A Little Bit About Us
After Paola and I married, we decided to completely change our lives.
We began our ceramics studies in Milan in 1988 at Scuola Cova di Ceramiche
and received diplomas there.
We realized that we needed to improve our technique so we decided to go directly
into a factory. To perfect our throwing technique, we went to the potter
Gualdo Tadino in Umbria.
When we wanted to learn the technique of firing at high temperatures, we
went to England to learn from Alan Baxter in Ipswich near London.
To perfect our technique in raku, we went to Japan and learned how to think
about raku. We learned about the tradition of raku and how the people in the factory in Japan approach their art.
In 1995, it was time to start our own studio. So we opened our workshop in Montepescali,
a medieval town in beautiful Tuscany.
